Dick Gardner, bass harmonica for Jerry Murad's Harmonicats On "The Bauers present A Holiday Harmonica Festival": "Man, that is the best Christmas album I have ever heard, bar none, so Crosby eat your heart out."
Richard Martin, publisher of "The Harmonica Educator" On "Now's The Time": "Excellent recording quality. The playing is very easy to listen to. I can hear the influence of Jerry Murad and Pete Pedersen. On one of the jazz pieces, I could hear a little Toots influence. Excellent musical accompaniment"
Norm Dobson, Vice President, National Harmonica League On "Now's The Time": "...absolutely sensational...smashing."
Robert Berta, "The Free Reed Review" On "Now's The Time": "When Chris plays his Meisterklasse and Hohner 64x harmonicas, he illustrates what a good player can do with this instrument. The selections are well known to just about anybody, so you won't find tunes that are unusual or ask you to adjust to a 'new' way of listening to music. Nor will you find the same riffs repeated over and over in loud obnoxious playing without any dynamics or phrasing...Instead, these are fine performances of well known easy listening jazz tunes that have passed the test of time that you wouldn't mind listening to over and over again."
Pat Missin, Harmonica player, historian, author, ... On "Now's The Time": "Lovely tone, careful phrasing, tasteful embellishment without ever losing the melody. Some very finely crafted work here. I have to say that I'm particularly partial to "Moondance" and "Harlem Nocturne". The little flourishes around the melody of the latter are just beautiful. Nice version of "Night Train" too - a lovely choice of tempo. A bit of a change from the usual harmonica versions."

Jim Miller, Nutmeg Harmonica Club On the Mixed Notes Cafe' appearance on August 6, 2003:: "WOW! What a show! Chris is an absolutely superb musician, and backed by an equally superb group....Chris, BRAVO!"
John Savas, Long Island Harmonica Club On the Mixed Notes Cafe' appearance on July 10, 2003 "The ensemble was a well balanced, well matched group of professionals. Chris' rapport with the ensemble was phenomenal. The first set was a solid hour of music. Chris and the guys took their turns and there wasn't a boring minute for the whole performance. The harmonica didn't take a back seat to any instrument. There was no doubt that Chris asserted himself as equal among equals. Keep up the good work Chris!"
Frank Dorritie, Producer: Art Blakey, Cal Tjader) "Chris Bauer has both the chops and the pedigree of a bona fide jazzman. His lineage speaks for itself and confirms the old saying about apples and trees. But beyond the DNA, his playing swings mightily and his solos are inventive and satisfying. Anyone not responding to the muswic of Chris Bauer should be checked for a pulse."
Norm Dobson, Vice President, National Harmonica League On new CD - "How High The Moon" "...truly outstanding. I'm not a great lover of jazz, but I gotta tell ya, anyone would love this CD. It's very tastefully done, great arrangements, beautifully played and easy on the ears. I thoroughly enjoyed it!"
PT Gazell, Harmonica Artist "Chris has more chops than a butcher shop!!"
